If only I could …
While walking around campus, I came across a friend of mine sitting down a bench. I hesitated to go up to him because for some reason he appeared severely depressed. Normally when I see a friend looking depressed I deliberately walk in the opposite direction so as not to hear anything they might have to say.
This time, however, I was a step too late. He had already seen me so turning around was no longer an option. Against my better judgment, I asked him how he was feeling.
“I’m super depressed,” he told me flatly.
“… why?” I muttered, almost hoping he wouldn’t hear me, or, even better, tell me he didn’t want to talk about it.
“I just wish I could have a whiteboard that I could tear into 12 reusable sheets.”
