For once in my life I had overachieved.
I had made it to the last item on my bucket list: to descend into the fiery depths of Mount Kilimanjaro, which is of course is a mountain consisting of three active volcanoes in the majestic country of Tanzania. I stole my friend Jerry’s helicopter and took off into the night sky. It was a beautiful evening. The stars shined like burning balls of white fire as I ascended further and further toward the atmosphere. Although I had no prior experience flying a helicopter I was doing a really great job. For once in my life I had overachieved. There was one thing I had forgotten about and that was the amount of fuel it required to travel by helicopter from Cranston, Rhode Island to Tanzania. For some reason I assumed that a helicopter conserved energy in such a way where I could fly from the East Coast of the United States to the continent of Africa on one tank of fuel. For the 12,034th time in my life I was dead wrong.
The helicopter began to slowly plummet into a forest outside of Cincinnati and at that moment it occurred to me just how badly I had misjudged the distance between Rhode Island and Tanzania. Luckily, I had prepared for this day my entire life and I had kept my EZ Freeze 24 Oz. Water Bottle in the mini fridge inside of the helicopter. I removed it and barrel rolled out of the helicopter just as it crashed into the forest. One call from a pay phone and Emergency Rescue came and retrieved me. “Are you thirsty? Do you need water?” The EMT said.
