We were all ready to go, but there was still a key obstacle in my way.
I didn't know where to sit. There was room in the front of the car, but also room in the back of the car. I stood next to the bus stop contemplating the decision. What if I got it wrong? I could potentially have a great time or a terrible time based solely on this decision right in front of me.
How could something like this happen to me? I thought I had it all figured out. I woke up at 7:00AM, went downstairs and had cereal. Everyone was really busy, but I was able to enjoy a quality bowl of Cap'n Crunch. Things were just working that morning, but then I had to deal with this. There was no way I could take this situation lightly.
The car was a convertible, so there was a chance that the wind could be more of an issue in the back than in the front. That being said, I was better friends with the girls in the back than I was with the girl in the front. However, to make things even more complicated, I had a big crush on the boy who was driving the car. I stood next to the bus stop looking like an idiot while I tried to make up my mind.
Everything seemed to be going in slow motion as I walked towards the car. I couldn't hear anything besides my increasingly frequent heartbeats. I was a mere 10 steps away and I still didn't know where I wanted to sit. Closer and closer and closer I got to the car, not making any progress on my seat.
Finally, I reached the car and sat down in the back. In the end, I realized that I could get everything I wanted from the back much better than the front. The boy I liked would see me sitting down next to my two friends with braces so I would look really good by comparison.
“Uh, I don't know where I'm going....” he announced to the rest of the car.
