Today, I will teach you about two things.
The first, as you might have guessed, is the Fila Men’s Polarized Sunglasses Collection. The second, as you might also have guessed, is doubles, the popular street food of Trinidad and Tobago.
If you pick up the Fila Men’s Polarized Sunglasses, you might say to yourself, “what am I supposed to do with this?” That is not the case with doubles, which you would know exactly what to do with if one were in your hand.
The origins of doubles trace back to Emamool and Rasulan Deen in 1936, but the name didn’t appear until a year later. Doubles consist of two pieces of bara (flat fried bread) filled with channa (chickpeas), chutneys and pepper sauce. They are a popular breakfast food, but can be eaten at any time during the day. I am going to have some for lunch today.
When Emamool Deen began selling his channa, he soon added a piece of bara to the recipe. Many of his customers, who may or may not have been wearing Fila Men’s Polarized Sunglasses, would ask to have their bara doubled, thus leading to the adoption of “doubles” as the name. Soon, Deen’s Doubles were all the rage.
Deen then got his family involved and together they spread the good name of doubles all around Trinidad and Tobago. We should be so lucky that they managed to make it here as well. When I feel particularly thankful for the fact that I can have doubles during my lunch break, I put on a pair of Fila Men’s Polarized Sunglasses.
