All I wanted was to sleep.
Just as I was about to fall back into a blissful dream, it returned. I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling as Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” pumped through my bedroom wall, keeping me awake. This had been going on periodically all night … I didn’t want to hear another word about the midnight train, or how some people go “anywhere” on it.

Finally realizing I wasn’t going to be able to escape it, I swallowed my pride and brought my blanket to the couch.

“Perfect,” I said to myself. At last, some peace and quiet.

Some fifteen minutes later, it happened again. Journey AGAIN sounded through my walls, shaking me out of my sleep. It was just as loud as in my bedroom … it seemed impossible. It was as if some kind of Steve Perry curse was placed upon me. This seriously could not be happening, I thought to myself.

MEANWHILE, IN THE ADJACENT APARTMENT:
