Or was it the year 2000? My memory isn’t exactly clear, but it was definitely one of those years. This is going to kill me … what year was it? Let’s see … 1902 was the year that the U.S. Government prevented Thomas Edison from having a monopoly on motion pictures … 2000 was the year federal agents performed a heroic raid to recover Elián González … wow, I still can’t remember. This is going to bug me all day.

Alright well sometime in either the year 1902 or 2000 I was listening to Will Smith’s monumental release Willennium, which I downloaded from Napster, when I heard my doorbell.

“Who’s there?” I called into the intercom.

“It’s Roy,” said the intercom, in the voice of my friend Roy. “Can I bring my Razor scooter up?”

“Sure,” I replied.

Soon enough I was hanging out with my friend Roy, talking about the latest episode of Survivor and eating French fries with green and purple ketchup. Then, we got on the topic of the Barnes & Noble NOOK Simple Touch.

“Man, I so wish it was June 10th, 2011 … I would buy a NOOK Simple Touch for sure!” Roy said.

“I know! They’re seriously the best!” I agreed. “Why didn’t they come out with that sooner?”

“Come on man, don’t be so dumb,” Roy replied condescendingly. “You gotta build up the anticipation.”
