Vern had a long time to think about what he had done, or at least that is what the Lancaster County judicial system adjudicated. Vern was, in his mind, being conspired against and he was going to make sure that it gets put to rest the day he got out. Unfortunately for Vern, that wasn't for another 3 to 5.

The incident that landed him in the castle-like Lancaster County Prison occurred seven months ago on Wateredge Road. Vern was arrested for burglary and trespassing after releasing every farm animal on the premises into the wild. Vern claimed that they were actually humans that had been mutated into animals by a mysterious sorcerer. No one believed the tale and soon enough it was off to prison with him.

Putting the issues aside, Vern had a family at home. A very large family. He and his wife Patricia had 12 children of their own, but also took care of Patricia's late brother's children as well. Not having him around was devastating for them. To make matters worse, Lancaster County Prison only allowed a maximum of 2 visitors at a time.

For the sake of the children, Patricia needed to think. She could break him out of prison, but that might not work; she had never done it before and wasn't too confident in her ability to pull that off. Tossing that idea out the window, she landed on the next best thing: the Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000. With that, she would be able to visit the prison and use the webcam to facilitate Vern and all the children talking. Very excited, she assembled the children before heading off to visiting hours. For some reason, however, it wasn't working.
