Where the heck do I find a Sonic?
Every day, all the time. It seems no matter what I watch on television it comes with a swarm of commercials for Sonic, some restaurant that supposedly has amazing milkshakes. Day after day I watch as two men sit in a car enjoying fast food and delectable ice cream drinks while making terrible jokes to one another. I would pull my hair apart because I had never, not even once, seen this restaurant in my life. The image of a perfectly swirled mountain of soft serve ice cream haunted my mind for months. I had a recurring dream of being held back by Arnold Schwarzenegger as a construction team released multiple wrecking balls at the Sonic building.
“Get to the chopper!” he would say.
“But I just want a Butterfinger Sonic Blast! Sonic's got it and others don't!” I would cry out, falling to my knees with my hands stretched to the sky as the elusive building crumbled before me.
I started losing a lot of weight and got fired from my job. My girlfriend broke up with me because she thought I cared more about Sonic than her. I tried to explain it, but it didn't help.
“No, that's ridiculous,” I told her while she was on her way out of my apartment, “I don't care more about Sonic, I just need to find it. I already know where you are, there isn't any mystery there.”
“Now there is,” she responded, slamming the door behind her.
I spent some time in the mountains, to “get away from it all” in a way. I survived only on instinct, foraging my own food and building my own shelter. After 7 hours, around 2:00 AM, I decided I had enough and that I was going home. I would forget about Sonic and try to regain control over my life. I walked back to the road and a car pulled up next to me.
“Need a ride?” a man asked.
“Well, that would be great, but to be honest I don't know where we are right now,”
“Hey, that's alright, I just got this Plenio VXA-3000 GPS Navigation System, it can direct me ANYWHERE!”
“Can it direct you to a Sonic?”
It was alright. I'd go back if it was closer.
