Someone was watching me.
Every so often, when it feels necessary, I'll take a walk in the middle of the night. I like to do this especially during the summer because it's very calming to just get outside for a bit. It's also really nice to walk without any intention of actually getting somewhere. Efficiency starts to lose power to curiosity and you'll find that you end up seeing much more interesting things than you would on, say, your way to work.

I had a bad day and needed to clear my head by taking a walk. I went left out of my apartment and cut through the park towards the water. The area along the water, lined with warehouses and factories, seemed nearly abandoned at this time of night, but that wasn't true. Unbeknownst to me, there was a man following me, watching my every move.

Every breath I took, he was watching me. Every move I made, he was watching me. I found a bond on the ground and broke it for fun and I think he saw me do that too. He also watched every step I took. I didn't notice any of this at first, but then I kept hearing a faint noise following me wherever I went.

“Is that the Police?” I muttered to myself.

When I was walking alongside of a building, the man decided to reveal himself.

“Oh can't you see? You belong to me. My whole heart aches with every step you take,” he said to me.

“That is the Police, isn't it?”

“Yeah, I printed out the lyrics on my HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer!”

“Cool man!”
