Detective Grundy peered down into the dark abyss of a narrow elevator shaft. The anonymous phone call that he received earlier that morning left him skeptical, almost skeptical enough not to investigate the tipoff that there was a dead body encased in ice down the abandoned elevator shaft. But, as always, his curiosity got the better of him, and he had to go investigate. Running his own P.I. practice for the majority of the past ten years kept Grundy a slim fellow, so fitting down the shaft was not the problem. But there was no way he was attempting to make his way down there holding a flashlight, not unless he wanted to join that body down there.
Grundy’s sensible side almost got the best of him, and he was just turning to leave the empty warehouse when his phone rang.
“Look under the bucket in the far left corner of the room,” it was the raspy voice of the anonymous caller from earlier. “What is there will help you crack this case.” With that the caller quickly hung up. Grundy hadn’t cracked a case in…well…ten years. This was not something he was going to give up. The detective flipped over the bucket and picked up the object.
“A flashlight,” the Private Eye asked out loud. “But I already HAVE a flashlight!” It was then that he noticed the clipped attached to the small black cylinder. This was not just any ordinary flash light! This was the amazing clip on All Purpose LED Light, perfect for cycling, hiking, and, of course, climbing down spooky elevator shafts. Grundy clipped the light on to his green and pink P.I. cap and turned the 6 downward facing LED lights on, to peer down the shaft. He strapped himself in to the harness that he had attached to a pipe on the wall next to the shaft and started lowering himself down into the, now illuminated, chasm. The amazingly bright beam emitted from the LED lights lit up the way and…yes.. .he was able to see the bottom of the shaft. And…what was that? DEFINITELY an arm! Wow, maybe this tip off wasn’t a scam after all.
An exhilarated Grundy’s feet hit the hard bottom of a large room ,and he undid his harness so fast that his amazing light flew off in to the darkness. Grundy was everything short of terrified. He dropped on his knees and scrambled around to find his light. He found it, but at the same time, grabbed hole of what felt to be a foot. Shaking, Grundy clipped the light back on to his hat and this time, with his eyes closed, switched on the 4 forward facing LED lights. When he opened his eyes he saw….
“SURPRISE!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DETECTIVE!!!” All his friends and family gathered together to celebrate his birthday. Now, this was definitely a case worth cracking :)
